In the last few months, I have been working with different AI tools, from ChatGPT, to Claude, Copilot and Perplexity.
Each has their own advantages, but they also have enough disadvantages — and they are all subscription-based, and you don’t really want to subscribe to them all at the same time. Of course, there’s also the free version, but honestly, these are almost all interchangeable, and only provide limited access to the features that make each of these AI tools special.
Tool | Key Differentiating Factor | Key Use Case |
---|---|---|
ChatGPT | Code Interpreter | Data analysis, Custom GPTs with access to web APIs |
Copilot | Integration into Office Apps (and M365) | Use of Microsoft apps on a higher skill level than you do without |
Claude | Writing, Long context window | Talk to books, writing |
Perplexity | Search | Searching web/papers, Page writing |
Github Copilot | Integration into VS Code | Writing and improving code |
Codeium | Integration into VS Code | Writing and improving code |
